In a significant move towards strengthening Iraq’s insurance sector, the Head of the Iraqi Insurance Bureau participated in the Board Meetings of the General Arab Insurance Federation held on the sidelines of the 10th Aqaba International Insurance Conference 2025, which took place from May 11 to 14, 2025. The event was held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Jordan, in collaboration with the General Arab Insurance Federation, and brought together over 1,000 participants from 33 Arab and international countries.

For the first time, Iraq was represented by over 15 insurance and brokerage companies, marking a historic moment that reflects the country’s strategic openness to regional and global insurance markets and its commitment to knowledge exchange and professional development.

The conference covered critical topics, including the digital transformation of the insurance industry, the role of Artificial Intelligence, and discussions around the challenges and future opportunities facing the sector amidst global economic shifts.

During the sessions, the Head of the Insurance Bureau reaffirmed Iraq’s dedication to supporting initiatives that enhance the regulatory environment, promote innovation, and pave the way for sustainable growth in the insurance industry.
