Al-Sadeq Insurance Participates in the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs Council Session

Al-Sadeq Insurance Company participated in the expanded dialogue session organized by the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs Council regarding the current state of the insurance sector in Iraq and the enhancement of competition within the insurance market. The session was held under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Younis Qasim, Chairman of the Council, and attended by representatives from the Insurance Diwan, the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers, as well as several private insurance companies.

The session addressed several important topics related to the Iraqi insurance market, including mechanisms for regulating insurance operations, promoting fair competition principles, and discussing the major challenges facing insurance companies. Discussions also covered the low level of insurance awareness and the procedural obstacles affecting market efficiency and development.

During the session, the Chairman of the Council emphasized the importance of implementing Competition and Anti-Monopoly Law No. (14) of 2010 to ensure a healthy competitive environment. He also announced the formation of specialized committees to address the issues raised in coordination with relevant authorities, aiming to strengthen and develop the insurance sector.
